The Jacksboro Public Library has been awarded a 'BOOKS FOR CHILDREN' grant from the Libri Foundation, a nationwide non-profit organization which donates new, quality, hardcover children's books to small rural public libraries in the United States.

We received the 2-to-1 matching grant through the sponsorship of community donations.  Also, the Libri Foundation provided addition monies to purchase math and science books.  Overall, we were able to purchase 82 new books totaling $1, 414.35 by just raising $350.00 in community donations.  Our new additions range from easy readers, to juvenile fiction and non-fiction to young adult novels.

These materials will be a welcome addition to our library, and the arrival of the materials is very timely due to the fact that our Summer Reading Program is set to begin Friday June 3rd.

If you've not been in the library lately, you may not know that we have underwent a complete remodel.  Some of the new additions to the library include: carpet, window blinds, a redesigned computer area and the addition of a reading area.  We now have ten (10) public access computers with a T-1 connection.  Our new reading area consists of a couch, chair, table and floor lamp located in a quiet corner of the library.

The library has started a young adult fiction section, which consists of over 400 titles, including many new popular titles.  We also have a selection of young adult audio books as well.

We now have over 600 new easy readers for our younger patrons.

The library is also starting a Christian fiction section.  As of now we have over 200 new Christian fiction titles.

The Jacksboro Public Library has been awarded the Libri Foundation grant.  This grant will allow us to purchase $1400.00 worth of new juvenile material, including easy readers, math and science titles.

Things have been changing at the Jacksboro Library.  If you've not been in lately, you've been missing out.  So stop by, see what's new and check us out.
